Welcome back to another article on Princess Prina’s Magazine. A quick notice before we get onto the article of today, this post was from The ‘Remind’ Series. In the ‘remind’ series that I introduced to my blog, it contained information on how to remind people of a certain aesthetic, color, celebrity, character and teaching you how to embody the aspects that you want. This is actually a discontinued series as this was from my blogspot post from nearly 2 years ago but nonetheless, I still hope you will enjoy the read!

It’s every hyper feminine girl’s dream to remind people of sugar and spice, bubblegum, the colors baby blue and pink but this article will help you embody this! It girls of this aesthetic are: Ariana Grande (2014 era), Alida Simone, Lizzy Grant and Dove Cameron (2015 Disney era) to name a few, they were like the embodiment of this hyper feminine, girly and fun aesthetic.

BACKGROUND + LIFESTYLE SECTION:

This aesthetic has many different names such as: Candy coquette, Candy Girl, Cotton Candy Girl, Pinkie Pie Core, Bimbette, Coquette Bimbo according to the aesthetics wiki page. It originated in the late 90s up until the mid 2010s.

What does it truly mean to be bubblegum coquette, however? I will break it down in this lifestyle section!

• Embracing your ‘inner child’ - We live in a world where society forces us to grow up so fast and forget the one person we’re truly supposed to make happy, which is our inner child. This aesthetic is about being hyper feminine and liking all the things you were afraid to openly like as a child. E.g - Girls liking the color pink in secret but being socialized or influenced into publicly liking other colors. Being feminine was seen as ‘embarrassing’ but this aesthetic is about letting go of all the negative stigmas we were told to believe as children.

• Watch old childhood shows, animated characters like Pinkie Pie or Fluttershy are very popular within this aesthetic, as well as characters like Lilly Bo Peep from Ever After High, Cat from the show Victorious and more.

• Never be embarrassed to do the stuff you enjoy, watch stuff you like and wear clothes you like.

• Go out shopping and look for stuff that remind you of your childhood, buy sanrio and other girly things.

• Have hyper feminine friends in your circle.

• Be super sweet to everyone.

• Just because you’re growing up doesn’t mean you have to leave certain elements of yourself behind.

• Use a lot of girly scented products

• Treat animals the way Fluttershy does

• Be in touch with your hobbies - for example, draw for fun!

• Always chew bubblegum or eat candy floss (with caution, you don’t want to be unhealthy)

• Be kind to everyone around you

• Go rollerskating

• Set up fun picnics with your friends

PSYCHOLOGY OF COLORS:

• Baby blue symbolizes calmness, serenity and innocence, it ‘stirs’ a sense of peace/tranquillity, often associated with the sky

• Mint green symbolizes feelings of growth, inspiration, peace or renewal

• Pink symbolizes hope, it stirs feelings of calmness and less rousing than the color red, it is often associated with romance, it brings the feelings of relaxation and contentment

• White symbolizes peace, purity, clarity and innocence. This is probably why angels are usually seen wearing white in movies.

When I think of the prissy and pampered aesthetic, I think of Anna Nicole Smith, Agent Provocateur, pink fur, old Hollywood robes & round powder puffs that have bows on them. This post will teach you how to give off this aesthetic. This article will be broken down into 4 sections: Makeup, hair, fashion, personality/vibes.

MAKEUP:

• Icons; think anytime a celebrity gets their makeup done by PaintedbyEsther, Blac Chyna, Miranda Kerr, Dream Doll from Bad Girls Club & more

WHAT DOES IT CONSIST OF?

This makeup consists of a pink lip and brown lip liner combination, contoured nose with highlighter on the nose bridge, dramatic false lashes, highlighter on the inner eye corner or a kohl black eyeliner for a more dramatic spin off, defined eyebrows, pink blush on the apples of the cheek, contoured forehead, jawline and a little bit on the cheekbones.

PRO TIPS FOR THE LOOK?

• Use eye shadow instead of highlighter if there is no highlighter available. When using the eyeshadow, use a q-tip or cotton bud to dab the eyeshadow a little bit and put it in the corner of your eyes. Q-tips actually help a lot with precise application if your fingers or brush isn’t doing the trick! I tend to use a more gold look if I want to give off a bronzey summer vibe or use a more cool toned, silver, icy eyeshadow if I want to give off icy vibes.

• Use brown eyeliner if no lipliner is available and use it to draw on the lines of your lips, don’t overdo it as the main part of the look is the center of your lips and will be the most important part when filling it in with lipgloss or lipstick

• Stack lashes on top of each other for a fuller look. Most lashes are expensive these days and do not always give the full dramatic effect, pair it with the inner eye corner highlighter, some dramatic black eyeliner and you are good to go. You can stack as many pairs until you get the dramatic look you’re looking for

• If you want a Marilyn Monroe/Anna Nicole Smith lash look, cut the longer part of the lash and move it towards the inner corner of the eye and stick it there. This will create a sort of winged, sleepy yet seductive eye look

• Dab a little bit of blush and pat it gently on the apples of your cheeks. You do not have to go overboard with the blush unless you want to

• Have lighter colored brows if you want a softer look, if you want a more dramatic spin, then make them dark

HAIR:

• Bombshell curls

PSA: I know I haven’t fully mentioned this already before in my posts but I think any hairstyle can fit any aesthetic. An afro can be (and is) chic and fabulous, a side part can be cool and fun and a pixie cut is just downright amazing. By listing hairstyles for each aesthetic, please don’t think your hair has to fit the ‘beauty standard’ of what is seen as attractive and by me mentioning hairstyles done on mostly straight hair, I don’t want any black woman to read this and think they aren’t beautiful because my blog is a safe space for us! And that’s also why I don’t usually mention a lot of hairstyles when it comes to the ‘hair’ section of my posts because at this point, it is down to you on how you can shape your hair to feel beautiful and not just part of an aesthetic.

PERSONALITY/VIBES:

Do not be afraid to spoil yourself as long as you do it within your means. You don’t have to be the richest person to treat yourself to a facial, go on a shopping spree or go eat at an expensive restaurant. You can do this by saving up and making sure you don't go above a certain amount of money. Treating yourself is essential for good mental well-being and a positive outlook on life. Maybe you go on a shopping spree after saving up and not buying the things you wanted all year, maybe you get a facial after passing your exams and having a heavy exam season.

A book I think that touches on this vibe well is - Kimora Lee’s ‘Fabulosity: What is it and How to get it’ book. I bought it about 2 months ago and it’s literally been my holy grail, she has tips from finance/budgeting to styling tips.

Be independent, I know we usually don’t hear the word ‘spoiled’ and ‘independent’ in the same sentence but in this case, I will say it! You don’t have to wait for the perfect person to sweep you off your feet and pay for every single thing you want (which is a scam in itself…because you’ll always have to return the favor somehow and feel like you owe them loyalty), you can treat yourself. I think spoiling yourself and knowing you worked hard for your money is more rewarding than literally just anyone giving you everything. Now I’m not saying you shouldn’t let yourself be spoiled by others, but don’t rely on others all the time to do so. I was watching Sex and The City 2 a couple of days ago - and the girls relied on an Abu Dhabi businessman, he paid for their trips, flights, cars, a trip to the desert - you name it- but as soon as something happened (which I won’t spoil, in case you want to watch it), the girls had to find their own way back home with basically little to no money.

Eat clean and workout - it is literally so much more important than you think. You can tell someone loves and pampers themselves when they workout and are thoughtful/intentional with what they consume.

Try and mix sweet and sensual scents. I own the pink sugar perfume which has a sweet, candy and fruity note of scents. If I owned the pink sugar sensual perfume, I would pair it with the pink sugar perfume. You can kind of tell how a girl is like by the perfume she wears, if I’m wearing a sweet candy scented or vanilla perfume, then surely I want to give off sweet vibes that day and if I’m wearing a strong perfume like I Want Choo by Jimmy Choo, then you’d assume I’d want to give off sleek, seductive and quiet confidence that day. Layer your scents and experiment, make your own signature combination and don’t wait for the 100th review on Tiktok of this popular perfume everyone is trying on.

Cut off people in your life who are mean, who are constantly negative and more. I think you should have friends who speak as much life into you as you do for them.

Have friends that enjoy going out with you. There is nothing wrong with being introverted, staying inside and just enjoying your own quiet time but time actually goes by much quicker than you expect. I’m literally going to be 20 next year and I feel like time has flown by so quickly. So make your teen years, 20’s and 30’s all about you and your girls! Maybe this is stemming from the fact I bingewatched SATC movies…but my point still stands.

This album is honestly so good and I have been listening to it on repeat recently. ‘Labels or love’ has been my top 1 of the album. One thing about Fergie is she was just so fun and also just what it meant to be glamorous. Today’s post is how to give off the energy, aesthetic, personality and feels of this album. This article will be broken down into 3 sections: fashion, music and personality/mindset.

FASHION:

• Ultra low rise, Fergie honestly didn’t play about her low rise jeans and she set a whole trend of ultra low rise baggy pants

• Black lace, this album is fun but also sensual and glam and black lace gives off the sexy glam appeal vibes

• Experiment with your fashion and have fun with it! Fergie always gave fun, camp - yet effortless

• Cropped tops that show off your midriff. Fergie was fit and she wasn’t afraid to show off the body she worked hard for.

• Wedge heels

• Red, black, pink and blue are your signature colors now

• Ties

• Tube tops

• Tiaras - Wear a tiara for fun, you don’t need to have a reason to do so.

• Black platform heels

PERSONALITY/MINDSET:

Be fun! Fergie had this carefree and fun attitude that everyone loved. I’m sure everyone has seen the meme of Fergie doing front walkovers/cartwheeling on stage! (Highly impressive, if you ask me).

Be cool with the girls and the boys. Even though she was in a male dominated group, she never saw it as a competition, she simply had fun and she also never showed any disrespect to the former female member of Black Eyed Peas, Kim Hill.

It’s also good to be ok with making mistakes. There was a performance Fergie did with Will.i.am and she forgot the lyrics and stumbled over it but people were still cheering because she still had the energy and she was fun

Don’t be afraid to switch up your style everyday, Fergie went from candy girl one day, to glam, to almost punk. You never knew which side you were going to be met with, which made it more fun.

I'm into a lot of bling, Cadillac, Chanel and Coach’ - There is nothing wrong with liking the finer things in life and expensive things. Liking expensive stuff is actually a psychology in itself. Luxury brands market themselves to be appealing to the masses, it’s exclusive to everyone but some. Fergie makes liking expensive things not seem egoistic but simply makes it seem like a fun teenage girly/adult experience. This song was also used in the Sex and the City movie and we all know how much of a ‘shoeaholic’ Carrie was!

Glamour doesn’t have to be boring. I think people associate glamour with quiet seduction all the time but glamour can be fun and bold and still have the same effect. It really depends on how you manipulate that energy.

This post will teach you how to give off this aesthetic. This article will be broken down into 4 sections: Makeup, hair, fashion, personality/vibes.

• Icons; Haifa Wehbe, Cassie Ventura (circa 2009; when she shaved the side of her head), 2007 Kim Kardashian, Lil Kim, Leila Lopes (Miss Angola 2011). • Be goal oriented; even if you are a lazy person - set attainable goals and pace yourself. A vixen always knows what she wants and goes after it

• Confidence; always be confident in yourself and your abilities

• Quiet confidence NOT arrogance, somebody who is truly confident doesn’t have to mention it. People can tell the difference between confidence and arrogance; arrogance usually comes from insecurity and ego.

• Limit what you post. Vixen kittens have a certain mystery and allure about themselves. You don’t always have to frequently post; and in a current world of social media and rapid trends, the girl who does things at her own pace always stands out. Maybe post a few times and then disappear for a while and when you post, always post your best photos.

• Be unapologetically yourself; as long as you are kind, it shouldn’t matter what people think about you or your actions

Why did I start this blog? I also watched the Devil wears Prada and immediately thought that I had to try and get into fashion somehow, especially fashion journalism.

PERSONALITY/VIBES:

Obviously, I don’t believe you should change your personality just to fit an aesthetic. But I’ll explain further, this is more just about aura and confidence, rather than changing your entire personality.

• Think like Kimora Lee Simmons - she was so confident and funny, she really saw herself as a fashion mogul and soon enough she became one. She believed in making everything fabulous and beautiful. Be a boss CEO, even if you don’t have your own company (yet!)

• Don’t be desperate. Work hard but know your worth!

• Surround yourself with positive, like - minded people who speak life into you rather than drain it.

• Live a peaceful yet sexy life (credits to Faith Annae from the Sheissobougie website/podcast, I absolutely adore her blog)
